EPDM Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, (EPDM) provides low maintenance and excellent weathering characteristics that make it the ideal roofing option for most northern climates. A black membrane attracts the sun's solar energy and can help to reduce heating costs during the cold, northern winters. White EPDM and ballasted assemblies are ideal for southern climates, where the demand for cooling is greater than heating and where reflectivity is a benefit. TPO Thermoplastic Polyolefin, (TPO), is the fastest-growing segment of the commercial roofing industry. Fueling this growth is the increased use of TPO in southern climates, where reflective, energy-efficient and cool roof products are becoming the norm. White and tan TPO membranes are ENERGY STAR®-rated and CRRC-certified (Cool Roof Rating Council) , and have been directly attributed to a reduction in a building’s energy use and cooling costs.
Membranes are available in sizes up to 12 feet wide and 200 feet long, making installation of this roof system fast and efficient. Installation accessories add to the efficiency of installation that drastically reduce the amount of time needed to flash rooftop penetrations.

Another option for reflective roofing, PVC membranes are ENERGY STAR®-rated and CRRC-certified, offering building owners the potential for decreased cooling costs.
